چکیده

The present study aimed to discover the effects of exogenously foliar-applied salicylic acid (SA) in concentrations 0, 1 and 15 mM (applied 7 21 days after heading) on oxidative stress. were monitored through phytoprostanes (PhytoPs) phytofurans (PhytoFs) immature mature grains three genotypes rice (‘R52’, ‘R45’ ‘Yerua’), their influence per panicle chalkiness. Chromatographic separation PhytoPs PhytoFs was performed using a UHPLC coupled triple quadrupole-MS/MS (Agilent Technologies, Germany). oxylipins showed differences both harvest times (immature mature) for each genotype. advanced lines, ‘R52’ ‘R45’, that 24.0 79.0% lower than those grains, respectively. concentration “R45” 46.0% grains. In unripe SA reduced single oxylipin all analyzed, while significant decrease six ten biomarkers observed. produced an increase panicle, Therefore, acid-mediated antioxidant regulatory capacities due down-regulation could favor grain filling and, hence, production.

Role of Salicylic Acid in Regulating Cadmium Induced Oxidative Stress in Oryza Sativa L. Roots

In the present investigation we studied the role of salicylic acid in cadmium induced physiological and biochemical changes and the possible induction of oxidative stress in developing rice roots. 24h cadmium treatment resulted in the inhibition of root dry biomass, root elongation and increased cadmium accumulation in roots. Salicylic acid presoaking for 16hrs resulted in protection against ca...

Exogenous ascorbic acid and glutathione alleviate oxidative stress induced by salt stress in the chloroplasts of Oryza sativa L.

The effects of exogenous ascorbic acid (AsA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) on antioxidant enzyme activities [superoxide dismutase (SOD), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and glutathione reductase (GR)] and the contents of malondialdehyde (MDA) and H2O2, as well as of endogenous AsA and GSH, in the chloroplasts of two rice cultivars, the salt-tolerant cultivar Pokkali and the salt-sensitive cultivar ...

Serine carboxypeptidase 46 Regulates Grain Filling and Seed Germination in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Serine carboxypeptidase (SCP) is one of the largest groups of enzymes catalyzing proteolysis for functional protein maturation. To date, little is known about the function of SCPs in rice. In this study, we present a comprehensive analysis of the gene structure and expression profile of 59 rice SCPs. SCP46 is dominantly expressed in developing seeds, particularly in embryo, endosperm and aleuro...

Salicylic acid modulates arsenic toxicity by reducing its root to shoot translocation in rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Arsenic (As) is posing serious health concerns in South East Asia where rice, an efficient accumulator of As, is prominent crop. Salicylic acid (SA) is an important signaling molecule and plays a crucial role in resistance against biotic and abiotic stress in plants. In present study, ameliorative effect of SA against arsenate (As(V)) toxicity has been investigated in rice (Oryza sativa L.). Ar...

Characterization of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Physiological Responses to α-Tocopherol, Glycine Betaine or Salicylic Acid Application

The impacts of α-tocopherol, glycine betaine (GB) and salicylic acid (SA) applications on higher plants have been the subject of many studies, with special emphasis on oxidative stress tolerance under adverse conditions. However, little work has been carried out on rice responses to α-tocopherol, GB or SA under non-stress conditions, in which yield could potentially increased. This study determ...
